Duct-Taping Souls at Creation NW
Wow. What an incredible week at Creation Festival North West with the My Broken Palace road crew.
We brought our portable prayer wall all the way up to Enumclaw, WA and the stories started pouring out!
Stories of Cutting. Drug addictions. Eating disorders. Depression. Loneliness. Thoughts of suicide. They were all there on the wall exposed for everyone to see who passed by our booth.
We’re beginning to take ground in the fight against soul poverty. The first step is allowing people to realize that these issues are real, present, and right in front of our faces. Once our culture accepts that this is OUR battle to fight, we can then begin taking unified action.
Another revelation is hitting us hard as we continue to take our prayer wall all over the country – the issue of identity. At the core of every suicidal thought, eating disorder, and addiction is this skewed belief that we ARE those things, that we are marked by our struggles and shortcomings.
So at Creation North West we started duct-taping names to people’s backs in a desperate attempt to fasten names that are true of them, names that God literally sticks to their soul from the moment they are born, names that can NEVER be removed as far as He is concerned. Names like loved, beautiful, precious, valuable, courageous, wonderful, and strong.
What would it look like for an entire generation to not only believe these names are true of them, but of everyone they come in contact with? God has permanently duct-taped his love to your soul. LIVE today in the reality of who you are.
